Resolutions

Here it is, my commitment to 2008.
The first thing I am going to do is go back to the gym and get back on my diet. I have gained back most of the weight I lost just before Cuba.
I am going to stop buying crap. I spend a lot of money on stuff, just stuff. That might be why there is so much clutter in my kitchen.
Also I am going to get up early and get ready first thing. I find I get more done when I am up and ready.
So, that is my plan, what is yours???

I get what you mean by spending a lot of money on "just stuff". I used to do that too much, I think, and I have friends that still do a lot. People have too much stuff - it's a habit we have, of acquiring stuff we don't entirely need. I've sort of broken the habit nowadays - budget, while still entirely acceptable, got a little less loose than it used to be, and at some point I started unconsciously revising buying decisions for small stuff that wasn't all that useful (and also I'll often decide to keep one thing that is still working instead of replacing it just because I'm bored with it). Actually, once you slow down spending habits, you can easily get to the point where you just get what you need, and don't desire the rest. And THEN when you decide to acquire a fun item, it's that much more special (and you have more money for it).

My plan for 2008 is the baby to come, and figuring out how to be a mom for two kids. I think that'll be enough to occupy me for the whole year. :D

Worthy plans, for sure.

I never have made New Year's resolutions. I already have enough things I don't do the way I should without placing additional demands on myself.

I always look forward to seeing the break rooms at work fill up after January 1, and then gradually the numbers dwindle until it's pretty much just me in the room where I eat my lunch brought from home. I like it that way, so I almost hope for folks to fail in their resolutions. Is that bad?

My own regular fitness routine will be more of a commitment than just whenever I can haul my ass outta bed at 5.30 in the morning. And a tighter budget too, yeah. That's a good one!

My only real goal this year is to get into good enough shape to ride the Katy Trail this fall. I got a new bicycle for Christmas and plan to hit the trails as soon as the cold goes away. I've been trying to work out more in the mornings...focusing on actual fitness/endurance goals as opposed to just lifting heavy things.

I hate to say I am making a New Years Resolution. I never keep them, along with most of the population I am sure. So I'm not starting until January 7th....which is tomorrow. Tomorrow I will start taking better care of ME! and whatever that requires.

I could use a budget myself.
